The Investment Promotion Act, B.E. 2520 (1977) set forth the legal framework for investment incentives granted by an agency, the Board of Investment (BOI). The BOI has responsibility for promoting investment in Thailand. It has powers to encourage investment in areas considered to be the beneficial to Thailand’s economic and social development. BOI incentives consist of the following:
We assist expatriates and their families in obtaining, extension and renewal of all types of visas, e.g. non-immigration B (business) visa, non-immigration IB (Investment through Board of Investment) visa, non-immigration O (other) visa and tourist visa—and work permits as well as applying for permanent residence permits. Besides, we advise expatriates on personal income tax planning, personal income tax filing, acquisition of tax identity cards, customs clearance cards and Thai and international driving licenses.
